Wrestling is one of the oldest sports in the world and has produced a wide variety of styles such as Catch, submission, freestyle and Greco-Roman. The styles may have varying rules, but all involve forcing an opponent into a certain position (usually on their back); or holding the opponent in that position for a minimum length of time.
There are a large range of grappling-type techniques that are fundamental in learning wrestling and at Hammer’s Gym we strive to teach them all. With the blending of both historic and modern styles we teach our students how to attempt to gain and maintain a superior position of their opponent. Students will learn the art of clinch fighting (hand fighting), throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling.
