What is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a great workout and an excellent complement to your Muay Thai training. A BJJ class is a training session completely different to other martial arts! BJJ focuses on grappling, ground wrestling, body conditioning, and teaches skills that crossover with other sports.

Anxiety and Fear management:
As a martial art, BJJ may be the most uncomfortable and claustrophobic due to its unfamiliar movements and techniques. Students may be put in challenging situations that teach the importance of keeping calm and reacting skilfully. Students are also shown how to think strategically and plan ahead – a principle that can be applied to daily life. Often times the most important thing to learn in BJJ training is how to relax and cultivate self-control.

Improve strength through Flexibility:
In BJJ winning the fight isn’t just about strength, flexibility is also important. BJJ is not about being the strongest or the largest, it’s about who has the best technique and mindset. This flexibility assists in all other aspects of your training.
