MMA

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a combat sport that utilises striking, grappling and ground fighting. The unique rule set in MMA enables a martial artist to incorporate skills and techniques from sports such as boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu all within the same place.

Our MMA classes are taught on a weekly basis and are the blending ground for all of the available martial arts at the gym. Put together in an 8-week program each week a certain aspect of the sport is taught and trained by the class such as striking to clinching or clinching to takedowns etc. Classes consist of a warm-up, technique-based drilling, expansion of the technique and a sparring section dedicated to using the technique or skill of the day.

Competition pathways

There are opportunities to begin your MMA competition journey with local amateur promotions but you must have experience in interclub sparring days and grappling tournaments beforehand.
